The Itch

I only completed my latest novella, GWM Wanted, late Tuesday night. I spent most of yesterday editing it and working on the final line edits for my December release, Pyromancer. I was thinking of taking the weekend off, giving my brain a chance to rest before I shit gears and go back to working on Secrets & Lies, another work in progress that's due to my editor soon.

Unfortunately, the itch to write, to weave little fibers of mental images into a story is already gnawing at the back of my mind. I found myself reaching for notebooks and doodling random thoughts on my characters while I was watching Project Runway last night.

Sometimes I wonder what I did before I started this journey as a writer. It's almost a compulsion for me now -- like an addiction. It's an odd sensation-- a little speck of a thought or idea that demands for you to stop everything and write it down before it disappears into the great black hole of forgetfulness.

So, I'm off to write.

Good for you...after 3 back to back I had to take at least a little time off. With a week of no writing now gone by, I'm getting back to work.
